Consider testing Ventoy instead. Which Lubuntu release did you attempt? (Apart from the fact it's a 32-bit image) You should be able to install 18.04.5 LTS: https://cdimage.ubuntu.com/lubuntu/relea...4/release/ (requires at least a Pentium 4 and 1GB RAM) If that causes issues, try 16.04.6 LTS: https://cdimage.ubuntu.com/lubuntu/relea...4/release/ (needs a Pentium 4 and 384MB RAM). Upgrades are possible after installation.

When I arrive, I'll verify the version I'm using and apply the recommended updates through Ventoy.

Also I have a query about whether 2x512MB sticks with dual channel or 1x256MB plus 2x512MB sticks using single channel is more effective. Is the 256MB better than the single channel option?

It functions well. I simply froze it for about an hour and used the older version. Thanks for the suggestion!
