After additional testing, it is confirmed that the mod does influence the benchmark FPS counter and other in-game fonts, such as those in the elevators. However, it was only discovered later that the accessibility option must be enabled:
Without the mod, this effect applies only to the fonts in the HUD, not to in-game fonts.
Therefore, both the accessibility switch and the mod are required.
