My family uses an HTPC with 4K gaming capabilities. CODBO4 and zombies ran well, though the performance felt a bit limited. Texture quality was high but not at maximum, and effects were medium. Average frame rate hovered around 72 FPS. I’m not aiming for more speed, just smoother gameplay. The rig is kept in its original format in my setup. I have a Ryzen 5 1400, an Asus Prime A320M-K, Corsair LPX 3000mhz, and a GTX-980 with BIOS modifications. I also use an EVGA 750. I own the necessary hardware but am facing some doubts about upgrades. The A320 chipset might struggle with the 2700X and could damage VRMs. My kids mostly play Sims 4, Roblox, and similar games—nothing that heavily taxes the system. I’m considering swapping the 980 for a 2060 if it helps, but I’m not sure about the board. I don’t think the A320 can handle it without risking damage. My main concern is whether I should upgrade memory or just stick with what I have. My idea is to save energy and replace the 2060 with the 980 instead. Thoughts?
The previous data remains intact, replace the remaining components. The system now features reduced memory speed to support testing purposes.
I could manage without it... but I might try to get one. Yeah, I was considering the same idea. I’ve set up the rig on the table and might attempt this now while there’s a storm outside.
Two secured Raijintek fans identified. Updating accordingly. Flow remains smooth moving forward.
Almost done setting up the tray. Must double-check fan spacing—it's a bit wider now. Also, figuring out how to hide the CPU fan cable without using zip ties.
