DDR5 memory costs remain steep, offering only a slight boost in performance while reducing frame rates and increasing latency. Keep in mind that 4400 MHz CL16 DDR4 chips outperformed DDR5 CL36 models with speeds above 6000 MHz.

DDR4-4400 is highly overclocked and not very affordable, making compatibility a challenge. The RAM is usually too slow, but performance often improves with faster memory. This is why AMD X3D CPUs are beneficial—they compensate for slower RAM by handling it better.

ddr4 4400 cl16 is struggling, you’d likely need to push it to higher voltage before reaching maxmem (~1.75v) and still have to cut back on many important timing details like trfc. Voltage isn’t the main issue, but cooling and cost are definitely. What IMC can handle at 4400 bdie in gear 1 unless it’s a golden IMC. Trying to overclock gear 2 is only practical if you’re using top-end binary HDDs running 5600+ at 1.9v or more, otherwise pushing to 4200 in gear 1 is the best you can achieve with DDR4. It’s just silly to concentrate on squeezing cl when most timing aspects actually have a bigger effect and don’t waste much power (except maybe trfc or tcwl if you push enough). CL is mainly for showing off or testing limits, not for real performance gains.

I notice very few people here focusing on that topic. It’s definitely not a big deal.

Everything's fine, buddy. Back in your group things could've been different, but here it's always been important to me. I've been focusing on speeds and timing since those early days with SDR. For someone like you, it probably won't matter much.
