Hey there. I've seen several players face problems with the game, mostly due to engine glitches. From what I can tell, most of those issues have been fixed. I think I might be an exception—this is the only game I've encountered with such persistent problems. The main issue I'm experiencing starts with a decent frame rate, but then there are occasional significant drops in FPS. These spikes affect steering responsiveness and overall performance. When lag occurs, my FPS consistently falls from a high number down to around 99.9%, then slowly recovers to about 97.5 or lower. This pattern repeats until the game drops to roughly 25 FPS or less, after which it keeps fluctuating. It's unclear if this is solely an engine problem, but it seems to be tied to how the system handles stress during laggy moments. I've tried everything—updated drivers, reinstalled Steam, changed graphics settings, even reset the PC. Nothing seems to resolve the core issue. It's frustrating since this game is otherwise solid and I'm still stuck with these performance hiccups.

any vehicle, any platform, any configurations. The problem begins in the menu and becomes unresolvable.

Response delayed a bit, but I'm connected and testing. No problems with the game on Rally, Pikes Peak, and RallyX. Used Ultra mode at 1080p with Max AA. Checked VRAM usage?

I'm running on Ultra, maxing out at 980 ti/s with 1440p resolution. My VRAM usage stays under 5GB consistently, which shouldn't be an issue.

Consider lowering the graphic settings or using AA mode for testing. Also, clear the Shader Cache if needed.

reduced AA to 2x and low shader settings are shown in this image, illustrating what occurs when I encounter spikes and how performance declines over time during a dirt rally in-game. quite unusual... it also affects the fluidity and smoothness on my desktop until I close the game.

It seems unusual. Have you looked at their Forum or Steam for comparable issues? I just tried running the game at 1440p Ultra with Max AA and didn’t experience the same drop you mentioned. VRAM usage is actually lower than when using 1080p (3GB at 1440p, 3.5GB at 1080p). Try disconnecting your controller and playing with a keyboard and mouse—similar problems appeared in Assetto Corsa before because the FFB crashed and caused spikes.

I looked for users with comparable issues and found "similare" but not as close as my FPS and performance drop until it becomes unplayable. Most people reported lag spikes from the recording system during replays, though Codys seems to have resolved that. Switching to keyboard and mouse helped—using a wheel, pedals, or H-shifter didn’t change my experience either. All other racing/sim games and general titles run smoothly except for Dirt Rally. I’m still puzzled about what’s causing the GPU issues.
