I remember my 9700k was stuck at TJMax for two years due to a faulty pump. It was built-in, but it took a lot of work to get it running again. Now I'm curious about how much time remains on my machine. By the way, I got the PC when the RTX 2000 line launched.

are you asking about how long it would last after being exposed to high temperatures for two years? does it show any signs of failing? unless there are warning signs, it seems thermal throttling is in place to protect against damage. however, running it extremely hot for such a period likely reduced its lifespan, which doesn’t make much sense. this question raises some confusion.

It’s hard to say for sure. The behavior seems unusual right now.

Sure thing. I installed the H150i Elite Capelix about eight months back.

It's alright, you can really push them hard and they'll be fine.

Thermal safeguards on CPUs have significantly improved. They now have robust internal features to avoid overheating. If the system behaves normally, it’s likely safe.
