The question is commonly asked, and I’m looking for a clear response. When should you start playing the game? Are there official launch plans? When will it reach its full version? Although it’s not truly finished, I’m thinking of the promised experience from the early days. Freelancer was one of my top picks, and this feels like an advanced multiplayer version. I’m excited to try it, but I don’t believe in putting money into something that might never be completed. I doubt Chris Roberts’ abilities.

The game shows solid advancement. I think it's been updated, though I'm not sure about the update frequency at https://starcitizentracker.github.io

In earlier talks Chris shared a detailed plan for 3.0 and beyond, but finding those slides has been difficult right now. There’s an update from January 5th that outlines what 2018 might include, though specific dates won’t be used anymore because CIG missed deadlines on previous updates. The project remains in an Alpha phase, and we don’t yet know when it will be fully launched. It’s still functional, though. Just recently 3.0 was released and I think it could be quite enjoyable.

If you don’t believe in him... keep going, ignore this game and wait until you find more information about its completion. That’s a poor way to judge the progress. At first glance, I noticed many things that seem completely off. From what I can see, it looks like just one person’s opinion on how the game is doing—can’t really tell if they’re a critic or not, but it seems that way.

It seems the report isn't very detailed about the game's advancement. I saw that the updates ceased in November 2017.

Beginning in 2018, they aim for quarterly updates for major changes (3.0 being the newest). We can anticipate 4.0 by year-end, a significant update that will add several solar systems and bring Alpha closer to its final appearance. Personally, I’d expect another year before the game is ready enough for Beta, followed by another two years until it’s publicly available. We might also see Squadron 42 released sooner—perhaps within six to twelve months from now. That’s just my guess. Please keep this in mind. If you’re undecided, wait. They don’t require your funds, so let them develop the game and check progress regularly if you’re interested.

It's frustrating when I can't find previous content about something. I usually wait until it reaches beta before investing. I prefer to hold off until they release more updates, like quarterly ones. Single-player mode isn't really my thing either. I remember a friend who was excited early on but got upset when the project shifted direction. They seem to be releasing regularly, so if they maintain their current pace, it should continue smoothly. I'm surprised at how much money they've gathered so far. I hope they deliver on their promises. As for following updates, sticking with the official site makes sense.

Not believing in the person responsible for moving things forward means you doubt the project will ever truly conclude. That’s why a meeting feels so irrelevant to you—they’re taking on more than they can handle. Good luck joining the group that’s been criticizing since the beginning. The updates on the site haven’t changed since the 3.0 launch, and it won’t be fixed until the new version goes live later this month. They won’t settle for half-measures; they’ll finish everything. Chris is determined to see it through, but since you’re not trusting him, you wonder if some compromises will be made. Probably not—there’s no pressure from EA to force a quick resolution. My response is simple: I’m tired of the haters’ constant complaints here, so maybe I’m a bit disappointed.

CIG is doing a weekly recap of everything that happened on YouTube called Around the Verse. Often they cover very interesting topics and highlight certain aspects of the game and the people behind it. There is also the monthly report that gets posted on the website every, well..., month.
