Yesterday, I experienced a DDOS attack, which was quite alarming. Are there any affordable VPN options available to help secure my connection? Also, I need to replace my modem soon. Thanks.

They probably wouldn’t target you unless you held a key position in a major organization.

You might have been targeted by a Layer 7 DoS rather than a DDoS. Changing your modem won't resolve the issue since it's a newer device, but obtaining a fresh public IP from your ISP could help. Clarify what actions led to the attack so they can assist you properly.

Asus routers let you direct specific devices via particular VPNs, but it’s usually not ideal. Route your gaming console through a VPN to hide your real IP address…or just stay out of trouble with the hackers.
