Water damaged keyboard
Water damaged keyboard
Hello,
Three days ago, I accidentally spilled water on my Logitech Deluxe 250 membrane keyboard. After unplugging and flipping it, letting the water drain, and then reassembling it to dry, I tried plugging it back in. The W key and other keys are still not working. I cleaned the circuit boards with a soft cloth and the membrane, but the issue persists. Have you experienced similar problems? Did you attempt any repairs or is replacing the keyboard your only choice now?
I had a friend take apart a rubber domed keyboard from the 2000s and he used a dry tissue along the membrane/PCB area. After reassembly, the keystrokes worked again! Focus on the part where the rubber domed membrane touches the PCB's contacts. Try using a dry kitchen towel or cloth to remove any leftover moisture from the keyboard's PCB. It should function properly now.
I attempted that too. I even placed some lego pieces between the pcb layers to allow drying, but the key still won't work. Could it be that the pcb is permanently damaged?
