G1/4 refers exclusively to the threads. Check the specifications on the fitting or use a measuring tool to verify. Standard sizes include: 12/10mm (12mm OD and 10mm ID), 13/10mm (13mm OD and 10mm ID), 16/12mm (16mm OD and 12mm ID). OD is the outer diameter, ID is the inner diameter.
