Water cooling not working?
Hi, I received my PC last week and left it for a few days before turning it on again yesterday. This morning, when I tried to start it, I encountered a CPU fan error. It seems the fan doesn’t activate immediately, causing the system to fail to boot without an error and instead wait for the CPU to cool down—starting around 60 degrees. The issue is more noticeable during intensive tasks like playing Forza 4 on ultra settings with the CPU at about 50°C, or while running AC Odyssey in the morning when it reached 90°C. I suspect the water cooling system isn’t functioning properly, especially since the i7-8700k is overclocked to 4.9GHz in turbo mode. I’m hoping I can avoid sending it back because I’d struggle without it for about two weeks.
Here are the details you might want to provide:
CPU: Motherboard: RAM: SSD/HDD: GPU: PSU: Chassis: OS
Also, mention your watercooling equipment and how the fans are connected. Check if there are any obstructions. If everything looks good, verify if there are any pending BIOS updates for your motherboard.
Does the pump produce any vibration or pulse? It should emit a low hum without being overly loud... it should remain relatively quiet.
