Have any people experimented with adding mineral oil into their water system? Only a small portion—about one-third—of the reservoir has been used for this purpose. To replicate similar effects, some have combined oil and water with food coloring in a sealed container, a method we practiced in school.

purchase distilled water (car battery bottled water) plus coffee paper, mineral water can lead to corrosion. A water cooler distilled water is free from residue; you should add a biocide to prevent algae growth in the loop. Food dye may cause stains and gunk on the water block.

Mineral oil is simply petroleum oil, used to set apart from synthetic or edible oils like vegetable or animal fats. It is not the same as mineral water. Its lower heat capacity means it reduces cooling efficiency and can cause the pump to mix the mixture into a thick, opaque substance. However, it does help avoid corrosion.

It's worth noting that many watercooling systems rely on rubber o-rings that can wear out over time, influenced by the type of oil used, which is something I wouldn't consider a major issue.

Just purchase a lava lamp—it's much more affordable than the troubles that adding oil to a working water-cooled PC will eventually cost you.
