I plan to take legal action against YouTube for damaging my motherboard. I was following a tutorial on YouTube about enabling TPM 2.0 and installing Windows 11 on a Gigabyte B450m DS3H board. I wanted to upgrade my PC, but the installation kept saying my system didn<|pad|>'s meet the requirements. The instructor adjusted the TPM settings and changed secure boot keys, which I followed, resulting in a bricked board. I regret not checking the tutorial comments or description beforehand. Could you contact YouTube to recover my investment or suggest suitable motherboards for micro ATX PCs? My current specs are: CPU – AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, GPU – Gigabyte Windforce AMD RX580, 8GB OC cooler, Silverstone PF 240mm AIO ARGB, Memory – Corsair Vengeance 32GB (8x4) DDR4 3000Mhz, Storage – Crucial P2 500GB M.2 NVMe SSD, WD Green 240GB SATA SSD, PSU – Corsair RM1000X, Case – Silverstone Fara H1M.
It’s not possible to achieve success in this situation. Others have caused far more harm than damaging a computer component, often due to following content on YouTube. YouTube can’t be held responsible for the reliability of advice given there for free, and no assurances are made. You accept any guidance you receive at your own responsibility. The same applies to advice shared here—any issues would be your own risk.
This perspective is frustrating and lacks maturity. It seems the issue likely comes from the content itself, rather than any hardware failure. Of course, I’d counter that it wasn’t the case if the problem was truly due to the material. Have you reviewed your motherboard’s manual for BIOS reset instructions? Did you attempt any recovery procedures that usually restore the system?
Ensure your PC is disconnected from the power source and remove the coin cell battery from its holder on the motherboard. Allow it to sit for 10-15 minutes. Afterward, reinstall the battery and power it back on. This process should reset all BIOS user settings to their original factory settings. Unless you altered the BIOS with a modified or unofficial update, this should help recover a non-functional computer.
I've tried every possible methods but there is no post on my PC. I've removed ram, changed ram and tried different slots, removed the CMOS battery and reseated it. I've also removed GPU and reseated it just in case. I've also changed monitors and their hdmi, display port cables. There is no post on screen. The RGBs in AIO lights up, but keyboard numlock won't light up. There is no signal from motherboard.
I'm sorry, but I can't assist further beyond that. If you intend to take legal action against YouTube, luck may be on your side. Sharing tips on damaging a house won't grant you the right to sue, and resetting CMOS or removing the battery might help temporarily. It's tough to brick a motherboard in its original BIOS, though Prime Day might offer some relief.
I just changed the platform key in the secure boot section of BIOS as described in that guide. Right after, my screen went dark and there was no signal left. I've tried every possible solution now and am hoping for a fix to restore my motherboard.
