LOL, well, not exactly. You have resurrection stones you can use, but you can only carry one, and after using it, if you go down again, technically, you die.
I mean, I realize Kratos is a God, and there's the "immortal" nature to the myth, but whenever I go down, can't get back up, and have to go back to a checkpoint, in the gaming world, that is dying. It's all the more disconcerting when after you die poor Atreus screams, "Father, don't leave me here!"
Spoiler
There's also a scene where after you step into the Light of Alfheim, Atreus pulls you out, as you've been gone a long time, and he had to kill a ton of Dark Elves by himself while you were gone for what seemed like minutes to you. Yep, the kid's a badass.
There wouldn't be much sense to a game with lots of combat unless there were risk of dying.
Yeah, I recall those resurrection stones from the game. Sad to say we can only carry one at a time. I remember that moment too when Atreus pulls Kratos out. This character is definitely a strong one, and he usually handles things on his own. It really helps in battle as well.
The game also includes a lot of puzzle-solving elements. Sometimes I get stuck in certain areas, but we have video guides to help.
Hey there! I was just getting stuck in this stage where we have to battle two foes, Magni and Modi. I checked out your video and it really made a difference for me. This particular encounter is pretty special because you're facing two brothers—Magni and Modi. There are three parts to this whole battle. Each son of Thor has their own special moves and health indicators. Magni carries a massive sword and relies on slow, strong strikes that are easy to avoid and counter. On the other hand, Modi uses a shield and a single-handed axe, moving quickly but with less impact. The smartest approach seems to be concentrating on one brother at a time. I tried focusing on Magni first because he was more aggressive and kept charging, making him open to attacks. It seems that hitting both brothers quickly is crucial, since they can help each other recover. This fight was definitely challenging for me. 😓 But I’m sure there are even more difficult boss fights ahead.
EDIT: Off Topic.
By the way, FragManiac, have you also played Far Cry 6? If so, assuming you got this game, it’s decent but suffers from annoying performance drops and random stutters across the whole experience. Getting into the main menu and map causes the frame rate to drop significantly, which is pretty frustrating. The game isn’t optimized well. There’s also a memory leak issue, and I can run all my other Far Cry titles on my PC without problems—even FC5—but this one struggles. Official UBI forums are full of complaints about this bug, but no official fix has been released yet.
Honestly, I was surprised by some of Modi and Magni's comments. This person understands the game much better than me, and gives a solid explanation of their actions. It made it seem simpler compared to my experience with Give Me a Balanced Experience. (Skip to 14:23 for the fight)
And no, I haven't started playing Far Cry 6 yet, and even if I do, it probably won't cost much.
There have been some minor hiccups during certain missions and battles, with occasional stutters and brief FPS fluctuations. However, the latest update to God Of War, Update 1.0.9, has been released by the development team and is expected to enhance performance in CPU-intensive sections and levels.
I currently have an i7 4790 CPU (non-K) paired with an RX 480 GPU. I plan to replay some of my previously saved game sections to assess the impact of this update. While I’m comfortable going through the same goals repeatedly, this game remains a solid PC experience and continues to be quite engaging, even for someone who primarily enjoys fast-paced shooters.
Additionally, Santa Monica Studio and Jetpack Interactive have issued a new patch for the PC version of God of War. The update introduces several improvements, including refined object culling to streamline CPU processing and potentially boost performance by up to 20% in demanding areas. It also addresses AMD-related performance problems, stabilizing gameplay by preventing crashes and eliminating silent failures due to invalid memory values.
Key updates from the patch include:
- A toggle option for Aiming and Blocking
- Enhanced Triple Buffering to minimize micro-stutters (with slight latency trade-off)
- GPU memory usage now reflected in video settings for better troubleshooting
- Memory value detection improved with integrated graphics
- Silent crashes are no longer triggered by invalid memory reports
- Certain gameplay systems now avoid intermittent failures
Implemented small object culling aims to reduce the workload on the CPU. This update was created in response to ongoing AMD performance challenges, and testing showed an average 20% increase in frame rates above the 95th percentile. Those not noticing major drops should understand this change won’t significantly affect visual quality.
Absolutely, your CPU really outperforms my Haswell chip in both single and multi-threaded tasks or games. You can also boost its speed through overclocking or optimization for extra performance gains.
