I'm experiencing the same problem with my monitor (same predator model) and noticed flickering when using a BBQ lighter at my desk. This suggests an ESD issue. The monitor is also powered through a UPS that can supply power to both the PC and monitors for up to five minutes during outages. An electrician recently visited to inspect the power outlet supplying the PC and monitors, replacing it with a higher-load socket, believing it might be the cause. However, the problem remains unchanged. I've read other posts in the thread, confirming all outlets are properly grounded since I live in Australia.
I’m sharing what I’ve learned so far. I was dealing with flickering on my Acer Predator X34P monitor. It would turn off and on when I moved closer or farther from it, but not when standing or shifting position. I initially thought it was a floor issue and didn’t pay much attention. Recently, after moving rooms, the problem returned only when I rolled in the chair. I’m using a new, more expensive chair now, which seems to have more metal components. The old chair was basic and cheap, so I’m wondering if the added materials in the new one are causing interference. I don’t want to replace it right away, but I need help fixing the cable issue. Thanks for any advice on preventing this. TL;DR – same problem only when rolling in the chair. Moved rooms, no solution. The new chair might be the culprit.
Okay Ive tested your theory ricardo and I must admit it is my chair. I have a very high end Steelcase Leap v2. ive switched to my old costco chair and no blink. Theres no way im getting rid of my chair. Im not sure new cables will do anything. I thinking how to ground my chair. I tired removing my plastic easy glide mat, thats there to save my hardwood floors but still blinks. Maybe an anti static mat may be my next purchase. Also I know everyone says its linked to humidity and I do notice it blinks more in winter when its the most dry. maybe a humidifier is needed.
I own the same monitor (XB271HU) and it never flickered, but once I got the Secret Labs Titan chair fabric my screen started acting the same way—around 15 to 20% of the time when I stand or sit. I’m curious if an anti-static bracelet might help or if adding a Ferrite core to the cable could make a difference.
