Consider using a power conditioner. A reliable one will also tell you about the power quality from the wall outlet. Keep in mind, do you have another monitor you could lend? If only this one is affected, you should return it and check if the problem persists with the replacement. It might be related to the monitor's design or installation.

Power conditioner seems costly. I don’t have another monitor. I switched outlets and still faced the same problem. I’m curious about the cause. After all, my old chair didn’t affect the monitor, and if a weird chair can cause flicker, then the monitor must be sensitive to ESD.

I might consider giving back the monitor if you're unable to afford another repair. A circuit with a floating or loop ground can function as an antenna, potentially leading to other issues over time. Would you like me to mist your chair with a hypoallergenic, safe, and non-irritating anti-static spray?

The guide specifies using a grounded wall outlet. It’s possible your outlet isn’t properly grounded. The effects of missing grounding are similar to what you’ve faced before. Local guidelines might suggest adding a ground or confirming your outlet is grounded. https://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/Document/User Manual/User Manual_Acer_1.0_A_A.zip?acerid=636283702951950354&Step1=MONITOR&Step2=PREDATOR&Step3=XB271HU&OS=ALL&LC=en&BC=ACER&SC=PA_6#_ga=2.267546510.1485873112.1521061305-1812452562.1521061305

Thanks for the feedback. It seems you're considering a future move and wondering about grounding options. Homes built around 2005 may not always have modern grounding features. If you're unsure, you could check with your landlord or local building authority to confirm if grounding is standard in that area.

Actually, there is a law that says that all houses built after 1994 (in sweden) must have grounded power outlets, my new one was built in 2005, so im think im good. Thank you so much for your help!

The documents suggest you require a grounded wall outlet. Based on what was mentioned earlier, it seems your current home likely lacks one. Older or poorly constructed homes are more prone to electrical problems even if regulations exist. To test for grounding issues, consider using a surge protector equipped with a grounding and wiring inspection feature. These tools offer cost-effective solutions. Additionally, a faulty plug for the monitor power could be contributing to the problem.

It was constructed in 1964. Yeah, those seem quite affordable.

I might experience a brief flash when I stand, and occasionally another flash when I sit down on my couch, which is positioned next to my computer chair.
