Like the title says. I saw a post in the news section about windows 8 and after reading comments about how windows 8 sucked and "it wasn't that bad" I just wanted to ask if any other people actually liked windows 8? In case you guys were wondering, this is my experience with windows 8. 1. I hated the metro interface when I installed it 2. Installed start is back. 3. I basically had windows 7 with a better task manager and boot times 4. I actually like Adobe reader on metro because it looks nicer when you are trying to read a book or essay, and with start is back I never have to use metro unless I want to. 5. I wanted to use SoftXpand for a setup but it isn't compatible with windows 8 which was the only major downside, but I don't blame Microsoft, Softxpand needs to update their software. In conclusion to me windows 8 was just a slightly more pleasing to look at windows 7 with a better task manager. NOTE: I am ABSOLUTELY NOT a microsoft fanboy. I am open to other views, I was just explaining my experience.

I enjoyed the Metro UI and the home screen. Not the current apps, though. No taskbar present.

I really enjoy 8.1, but I haven't really utilized the start menu beyond looking for things or opening the desktop.

Windows 8 stands out as a strong contender. Windows 7 remains the preferred operating system for most users. The Classic Shell version merges the strengths of both platforms. I personally appreciate Windows 8, though its early release was quite rough. A complete reinstall reveals a lot of unfinished work, with many changes aimed at stabilization.

I don't mind Windows 8! (At least Windows 8.1 works)

It's actually quite pleasant using Windows 8 on a tablet or touchscreen, but the Metro interface with its large icons and interactive elements feels awkward when you're using a mouse or trackpad.

I also enjoyed Windows 8. After installing a suitable start button, it became a really solid operating system.

Are you nostalgic for the simplicity of Windows 7 without the modern interface?
