Hi, I began exploring The Witcher 3 and quickly felt overwhelmed by its vast world and extensive content. While the idea of GTA5's Los Santos or Watch Dogs 2's San Francisco sparked my interest, Witcher 3's Continent didn't capture that same excitement. Objectively, I know The Witcher 3 lives up to its reputation and deserves all the recognition it receives. I'm just curious if others felt the same way. PS: I should also note that I'm taking medication for clinical depression and anxiety, which might have influenced my reaction to the game.

Well, you don't have a deadline to beat it or anything. Just take your time. I did when I dealt with not only the game, but the 2 expansion DLCs. There's a lot of content, so I wouldn't force yourself to play the game. gaming is a form of entertainment after all. Witcher 3 is acclaimed for a reason and everyone should try playing, but if you don't enjoy it, don't keep playing it.

I approached it the way I handle my own journey—seeing it as an endless space ready to be discovered. I really enjoy traveling, and living in such a large country might influence things.

I really attempted to play Witcher 3 (35 hours) but discovered it wasn’t the right fit for me. While I believe it’s one of the best games ever made, missing the backstory and all the details made it difficult for me to connect with the story. It’s not a game for everyone, that’s for sure.

I wouldn't enjoy Witcher 3 if you're dealing with depression. The side missions rarely offer a positive vibe. The main plot tends to be somber, with only occasional uplifting scenes. It's still a solid game overall. I found the quests challenging at times, but I don't have depression.

It wasn't the game that bothered me, but how I set up my PC. The environment felt tight and my chair and posture weren’t ideal. I restored the original setup, wiped my progress, and started fresh. Now I’m really enjoying the experience. Appreciate all the feedback!

I often feel unengaged quickly, lacking the time or focus needed for repetitive grind-based games. I’ve never completed any Assassins Creed titles, even though I still purchase most of them. For Fallout 3 and 4 plus GTAV, they offer the best mix of lasting appeal and fun.

Witcher 3 was among the few expansive games I finished. The way the story unfolded in main and side missions kept me engaged longer than expected, reaching my natural end point made it easy to just keep going. Often when boredom sets in in open worlds, I’m still far from the finish line and stop. I usually revisit later, but rarely do. For similar games, I suggest taking a shortcut and discovering where you can’t go further. I try to push past those limits, then return to complete the side stories I want or need. Then move on to the next barrier and keep going.

Great game overall, though I struggled to access it even though I'm a dedicated Skyrim fan—just because of the modding side.
