Considering your options in 2020, buying a Ryzen 7 2700X might not be the best move. The Ryzen 5 3600 seems more suitable for your needs. You can pair it with the Radeon RX 5600 XT or the NVIDIA RTX 2060. Just check if these components will cause any bottlenecks before deciding. Thanks for your patience!

Unless the 2700x is extremely affordable, around $130, I’d opt for the 3600 at $170. Or hold off until the next 4000 series arrives next month.

In my country, 2700 units equals $226, 3600 units is $272, and I’m curious about the price for 4000 units.

It seems the 2700x and 3600 models are currently priced lower than their MSRP in your region. Once the 4000 series arrives, those CPUs will remain at MSRP for an initial period. This could make them more costly compared to the 3600 and 2700X. Of course, this is just my guess.

It remains a good investment. You can simply push the clock speed higher to align with the 3600 standard. It might be smarter to wait for the 4000 release since prices tend to fall then. A 4000 should cost roughly the same as the original chip, only slightly more expensive. A 4600 would likely match the price of the 3600 when it first launched. In the worst case, it could be priced similarly to the 10600k model. Just like the 2600 saw a significant discount after 3600 was introduced, this situation is expected again.

The graphics card's condition depends on your needs; the 5600XT offers more power, while the RTX 2060 provides solid performance for everyday tasks.

A 2700X runs slower compared to a 3600 clock-for-clock. A clear clock advantage is needed to keep up with newer chips. Zen 2 offers a substantial performance jump over Zen+. At 3.5Ghz, the 3600 outperforms the 2700X. It delivers 15% better single-core speed and only a 10% drop in multicore performance, using half the resources of the 2700X. Unless your tasks rely heavily on all 16 threads, the 2700X will lag behind the 3600 in most scenarios.

Consider what works best for streaming and choose a GPU accordingly.

It seems like you're wondering if a 3600Hz frequency might be more suitable for streaming.
