Hello, I'm struggling to decide between the H97 Motherboard and a non-K Intel Processor, or the Z97 Motherboard and a K Intel Processor for future overclocking. Would it be worth doing? Is it challenging? Also, could you recommend which processor offers better value for money (budget): 4590 - 4690/90K - 4790/90K?

If you truly believe you won't need to overclock, getting a 4690 (non k) and a h97 motherboard would be wise. It's better to have the option now, as investing a bit more now could prevent future issues later.

Overclocking is simple and beneficial. The 4690k stands out as the top budget option for gaming. If your main focus is gaming, choose the i5-4690k because i7 models don't fully utilize hyperthreading and aren't ideal for this purpose. On average, i7 offers only a slight improvement of 2-3 frames compared to i5.

That's not accurate, as numerous games utilize more than four cores and take advantage of hyper-threading. The Cry Engine and Frostbite in BF4 are just examples; there are likely many others as well.
