Hi guys, I'm just starting out with the used GPU scene and recently purchased an Asus Strix 3070ti from eBay. The seller mentioned he only used it as an e-GPU for two months. When I asked why he was selling it, he said he got it as an iMac EGPU but discovered the card wasn't fully compatible with iMac drivers, so he had to upgrade. About two days later, he posted another similar listing with the same GPU model, pictures, and description—just different serial numbers.

I’m a bit concerned because it seems odd that someone would list it as only using it for two months. It might suggest he bought multiple 3070ti cards for mining purposes. I understand that used cards can be in better condition, but I want to get some feedback before making any decisions. I’m still within the return window, so I thought it might help to ask for opinions from the community.

EDIT: I might have posted this in the wrong forum section—should it be under GPU? Sorry if it needs moving to the right place.

it's absolutely confirmed it's a used mining card. i wouldn't purchase any used gpus at the moment. the entire market has been saturated with them since the crypto crash. you should consider returning it and purchasing a new one from a trustworthy seller.
