If you like zombie survival titles and are willing to invest in trying a developer's project, go for it. H1Z1 appears to be assembling effectively given its limited development timeline. Their engine also stands out compared to other games in the genre, such as DayZ. Avoid focusing on those who criticize H1Z1 for pay-to-win mechanics, as a closer examination of their micro-transaction model would reveal limited real value. Also steer clear of complaints about paying to access early versions—developers aren't pressuring players to fund their games, and Steam clearly warns about this. Remember, many other free games and early access titles exist.

I observed Jim Sterling playing the game. He placed an Airdrop which arrived in 2-3 minutes, but it was crowded with around four others vying for it. The highlight was discovering that the airdrop also included dozens of zombies, likely ending all player lives. Overall, the game is heavily focused on players interacting directly, more like PvP than cooperative play. From what I've noticed, chasing after people in a car usually beats battling zombies. I tend to label these kinds of titles as H1Z1, DayZ, etc., calling them asshole simulator apocalypse versions.

Also review h1z1's Twitter feed and you'll notice their commitment. They aim to add features like "moarr zombies" that seem missing in DayZ. As one player noted, the game has progressed significantly. I don't play much, but I enjoy it. I usually play a few times a week, which is great because I notice substantial improvements rather than small, gradual ones.

This was the most hilarious part of the game so far. I’m not sure if anyone else gets it, but when it finally ended, I was laughing so hard at my screen. (I’m not trying to promote my YouTube channel—I only uploaded this one specifically for this occasion.) I just got spawned, and it looks like this person must have been around a while ago. (He kicked things off.) Also, this was a long time since the game got updated, so don’t think this reflects how it’s played now.
