If you could let me know in about four hours, I’ll be able to answer more thoroughly.
A & B didn’t use any special formatting.
Cut and paste methods were drag-and-drop and CTRL-C followed by CTRL-C.
I was entering "BlackNoise" into empty cells without issues, while "NoiseBlocker" appeared in non-crashing, crashing cells in B.
There was no special text or characters, just plain text without formatting.
I haven’t encountered a situation where a sheet crashed due to incorrect input in a formatted field. It’s been a while since spreadsheets handled errors gracefully.

One idea was that the information being entered might contain an Excel reserved term. This doesn’t appear to be true for "BlackNoise" or "NoiseBlocker".
A full column could be styled, and then individual cells inside that column may be formatted separately if needed.
Right-click on the header of Column A and Column B.
Choose Format cells from the menu.
Select the desired format for each column.
Repeat this process for cells that fail and those that don’t.
Examine the formats of cells that crash and those that don’t.
Consider pasting a "NoiseBlocker" entry into a cell that doesn’t normally crash (for example, originally "BlackNoise")—does the cell then stop failing?
Similarly, paste "NoiseBlocker" into a cell that is already crashing—does it cease to fail?
Try inserting a space between "Noise" and "Blocker", as well as between "Black" and "Noise".
Look for any changes that could switch a cell from crashing to non-crashing or vice versa.
This should be something consistently and reliably repeatable.
Test this on a copy of the spreadsheet.
It seems Excel should manage such issues without crashing, though various conditions can still arise.

Not only do I not have trouble in OO, I uploaded the sheet to Google Sheets and had no trouble.
As I said, there is no format assigned to A and B, or most other columns except where I set it to something numerical because I wanted a specific output (e.g. currency, no decimal place)
I attempted to format A-E & H simultaneously to "text". Excel crashed and reloaded itself.
I attempted to format ONLY A. Crashed, didn't reload. Same happened with column B.
I attempted to copy the CONTENTS ("BlackNoise") of cell 123A. After pressing enter, it crashed.
I do not have any data entry error rules set up as I haven't learned how to use them. In fact, I don't have any rules set up at all for the entire file that I can recall.
The only thing that has actually changed is that I switched from an old Dell keyboard to a Rosewill RGB that I just bought. I switched back to the Dell and tried to overwrite 123A by typing in the same thing. Crash!
Previously, please note, 123 was not a problem.
When I attempted to paste the sheet into an empty sheet...Well, you can guess.

Windows is attempting to fix the installation now. I'll provide updates later.

No issue. Thank you.
Check for unusual symbols within the cells using the provided links.
Excel often avoids displaying certain characters, which can appear when copying or dragging data from other sources.
Try searching for special or hidden characters in Statology, Ablebits, and Excel forums.
Alternative methods include using Google or OO to inspect the content, exporting data to Notepad for review, and examining Event Viewer for error logs related to Excel crashes.

A solid starting point is available at the provided link.
Do not attempt to set up anything right away.
Review the Application & Services logs for Excel references.
Check Microsoft Office alerts as well.
Logs might be long and confusing—identify relevant entries (like Office or Excel) and then work on interpreting the error codes if any appear.

Perhaps not the most useful response, but it might be better to begin with the task using Libre Office instead.
