I really do kinda sorta want Day-Z but $30 quite a lot. Some of my friends have it (so I think it'll be fun with them), but I've heard that it is not developed enough for it to cost that. I'm currently building my PC so I need all my money for that. Basically, should I get it or wait until the full release?

Talk to your friends about it. Find out what they think. I’ve had the chance to try it, but I chose not to.

Early access versions come with limited features and aren’t ready for full payment. Even though I enjoyed DayZ, I shouldn’t have had to spend money because it’s still in development. This might be my final purchase of an early access title (Star Citizen isn’t included).

If you decide to play by yourself, you're unlikely to have much fun. But with a few companions it can become very entertaining, although the excitement tends to fade quickly.

They essentially split in two, with half agreeing and the other half disagreeing.

Early access isn't meant for casual enjoyment. It's reserved for committed supporters who wish to help shape the experience. That's why many early access titles often exceed $40, since developers aim to keep them exclusive to passionate players.

If you have friends who enjoy it, then remember that once it’s fully released it will cost at least $60. Buying now saves you money over time, so I’d go for it even if you don’t play until the end.

For a mod experience in DayZ, you can find an Arma 2 combined operations key at a low cost and discover plenty more to explore beyond the game alone.

It would be wise to hold off on the purchase at this time.

It depends on what you value most. If speed matters, it might be worth considering.
