I tried some overclocking on my RAM using the DRAM calculator for Ryzen and Thaiphoon. The process ended in a BSOD, and even the XMP profile isn’t functioning properly. Every time I power on the system after unplugging it, it restarts twice before stopping at the RAM. After adding a screenshot of my BIOS settings, the task manager now shows something. How can I figure out what’s wrong?

Clear CMOS, these adjustments are too strong for your memory type. I’ve got G.Skill’s premium board and even that won’t let me apply some of those changes. Probably you messed up the DRAM calculator settings. Also, for many memory chips, 1.45V is quite high. If you’re using a Samsung C-Die chip, it’s likely to fail completely. Make sure the DRAM voltage drops to something more normal—around 1.3–1.35V. Some chips won’t work above 1.4V, so stick to lower voltages unless you’re certain. The JEDEC standards say any chip must survive at least 1.5V briefly; if you didn’t push it that high for days, nothing should have failed.

It was quite awkward at first, but the system actually restarted after about 30 minutes before the crash. I immediately booted into bois and reset it, assuming it worked like a normal CMOS reset. Now I realize it wasn’t that simple—it boots correctly again even when I disconnect the power supply, and the XMP profile activates properly. I was convinced something had gone wrong, so I decided not to try overclocking RAM again. However, I might attempt it once more since the XMP profile seems sufficient. These are the safe settings for future attempts.
