You're considering a new game after enjoying the narrative style of BF1 and the historical feel of WWI/II. It's understandable to question if the story is realistic or if it might be too brief for your expectations. Take your time evaluating whether this aligns with what you're looking for, and don't hesitate to explore other options if needed.

They prioritize multiplayer experiences. For a story centered on a single player, consider newer titles like Battlefield Medal of Honor or CoD Blackops instead.

You seem to understand the point. If you grasped it, you probably wouldn't enjoy multiplayer games.

Then your probably spending a bunch of money for very little. Here is a rule I live by: Don't purchase a multiplayer game for the single player content. It never works out well. Learned this when years ago. CoD died for my at Blackops 2.

I’d suggest a WWII game that offers immersive strategy and historical depth, such as "Age of Empires" or "Crusader Kings." These provide engaging experiences while capturing the essence of the era.

I'm sure you're not a fan of CoD; avoid it at all costs. BattleField 1 offers a solid WW shooter experience, though it leans more toward WW1 and WW2. Most CoD games only get better with DLC, which can hurt the gaming scene by lowering expectations yearly. Finding genuine WW2 titles is tough—most either copy CoD or are poorly made. I’d still recommend trying BF1, as I really enjoy it.

Other ideas suggested include WW1 topics or similar content.

If you prefer single-player experiences, skip CoD. They constantly release new versions to attract players, as old servers have become inactive. The only remaining classic titles are BO1 on the PS3 and BO2 on the PS3. PC CoD tends to fail when newer games launch, mainly due to widespread cheating.

EDIT: Besides BF1, I don’t think there are many viable alternatives. I often searched for that genre but never found it. Updated November 7, 2017 by Sfekke – corrected the original post.

It's not a typical first-person shooter, yet Foxhole is enjoyable.

Thanks! I'll collect it later and try it out—looks like it could be a solid game.
