Warzone restarting pc
Warzone restarting pc
Hey guys. Recently after the season 5 update, Warzone has been restarting my PC. It usually occurs about 10 minutes into a game. The computer shuts down completely and then restarts again. This used to happen before, but after what seemed like an update it fixed, though now it’s back. I don’t think the issue is with my temperatures since it shut down completely, not just a spike. Last time I ran MSTI in the background to monitor CPU and GPU temps, it never exceeded around 70°C. “I’m using a Wraith Prism to cool the CPU.” I tried MSTI again but it doesn’t show temps properly in the corner anymore. I’m wondering if others are experiencing this problem with the game or if it’s related to my hardware. I have an R5 3600 and an RTX 3060 Ti, and I built the rig at the beginning of the year.
Hey there,
This seems to be a PSU problem. Which one do you have? Usually it causes random restarts, but often during heavy use like gaming.
650watt gold seasonic fully modular, brand new when I installed it 8 months ago. This model behaved oddly at launch, similar to the new black ops version—unreliable and prone to crashes until I switched to dx11 mode. I’ve run stress tests on cinebench and heaven, but it still tends to crash unpredictably, mostly in warzone at random moments.
The Seasonic performs quite well.
Are there any overclocking options available for the CPU or GPU?
Minor undervoltage applied to the CPU with a very low clock speed. The graphics card has been undervolted and overclocked as well, but performance remains unchanged without using the OC profile. I’ve noticed that RAM speed might be contributing to the problem. I plan to test by lowering my RAM clock to 3600 upon returning home and see if that resolves the issue, or consider updating the BIOS on my B550 board if RAM speed doesn’t help.
I agree with the idea of keeping things at stock settings. I faced similar problems with a Ryzen 5 3600 and an RX 6600xt, where my PC would freeze during games and reboot unexpectedly, even after switching to a Corsair RM850x power supply. I rolled back the GPU drivers to the previous version, but there was a VBIO switch on my card indicating factory overclocking. I changed it to silent mode, which seems more normal. After all these adjustments, I managed to play 1.5 hours of BF1 without issues last night, so I’m hopeful the problem is fixed. In short, removing overclocking and ensuring stability would be ideal.
I kept the CPU overclock enabled and the GPU overclock off, as it was a factory-fitted card. I adjusted my RAM speed to 3600 in the BIOS. Attempting manual timing tweaks didn’t allow me to push tRP beyond 19, but XMP let it reach 21. I used XMP and then reduced the frequency back to 3600. An unusual observation was that before making any changes in the BIOS, I remembered the XMP settings I had applied—17-21-21-41-68—and when I re-enabled XMP, the timings shifted to 17-21-21-21-41. I don’t understand why this happened, but I left it and was able to play last night without any crashes. Since I hadn’t played for a while, I’m not sure if this is the solution yet.
I understand, it’s a poor port, but I still like the game when it runs smoothly.
