Warzone often performs poorly at random times.
When I load into warzone lobby there’s a chance it loads at 30 fps and if I play the game it also runs at 30 fps. but then other times it runs perfectly fine. The attached photo of warzone at bare minimum specs. I’ve reinstalled the game multiple times reset settings done it all.. specs: i7 4790k oc to 4.5ghz rx580 4gb 24gb of ddr3 (two 8gb sticks and two 4gb sticks) benchmarks says it’s good no hardware issues (other games run fine and so did warzone until recently)
I know some friends who play on a 1650 server and everything works fine. Their game runs smoothly about half the time, but I often have to reload ten times during each session. After that, it seems to work perfectly for a couple of games before issues start.
Game demands a lot from your CPU, especially given its age and current performance. Results can change greatly based on your position on the map and nearby player count.
VRAM needs are similar; even though I haven’t played on a 4GB card, this game often uses most of it, sometimes exhausting it completely. You might face slowdowns or be forced to use DRAM pooling, which is much slower on DDR3 compared to newer systems. You mentioned it can run fine sometimes—do you always test in the same area? Performance usually improves as more players leave, so early on you may struggle if you’re in crowded spots, but later it can get smoother with fewer people. It’s also hard to compare accurately since friends’ systems don’t play the same way.
My results rely heavily on the lobby's condition ^^(pic above). Occasionally it works well as long as the area before the match was functioning properly. It doesn’t depend on my position on the map, performance remains poor regardless. However, restarting the game usually fixes the issue—I can rejoin and everything runs smoothly. Initially I suspected a driver problem, but after testing three versions, I’m still unsure. The CPU isn’t causing delays according to the task manager.
It seems a bit unusual. My wife recently upgraded her PC, but before that she played Warzone on the same CPU with an Nvidia 970. I think her graphics card would run slightly better now. Her performance was stable at around 1080p medium. Still, we haven't played in a while—maybe the game has changed too.
That's exactly what you'd expect from a CPU bottleneck—occasionally it happens, though not always. Goodnight when it does. The Task Manager isn't very useful for spotting this issue, especially with the view you shared; unless your system is a single-core processor, it won't help much. Also, Discord and AMD Crash Defender seem to be doing little to nothing in this situation.
