Warranty details for Gigabyte products
We need to discuss the gigabyte masterrace warranty. If your motherboard is faulty, you should initiate a return of merchandise. The issues you mentioned—liquid stains, deep stains, scratches, CPU backplate marks, NVME heatsink marks, food residue, and even food pieces inside the CPU socket—seem to be common problems. The reason seems to be that they can handle it and will. I gathered insights from ASUS, MSI, ASROCK, AMD, and SINTEL while reporting Gigabyte to the FTC. They took about a month to send a void warranty, insisting no proof was needed. Another month later they attempted to resolve the same issue without proof, and then another two months passed before they reached out or followed up. Their sales rep was unusual; he suggested vague explanations about wrongdoing before offering a board number for the fourth RMA attempt. It’s clear they overlooked many problems, including thermal paste spills and possibly a cat resting on the board. You’d likely only need to replace the BIOS chip. Anyone know what they were thinking? Also, is Windows 11 24h2 more usable than before?
You're welcome, but we should have messaged you directly. The Gigabytes GPU service is way better than the EVGA PSU service.
Evga stood out as the top choice in my experience. Seasonic or Corsair problems were more common than Evga issues. Your DMS performance is impressive compared to gigabytes that seem limited to the trash can. The odd part is that after purchasing an ASUS board, I faced no issues—though I wanted an MSI Tomahawk DDR5, which are currently out of stock for a long time. The Gigabyte board required about a minute to boot into Windows (including preboot checks and minor freezes).
We all have unique experiences and occasionally get a lemon. I mainly use gigabyte boards and haven’t faced any problems so far. To be honest, I’ve never had a motherboard issue before. Sorry you’re having trouble, and sorry the Gigabyte service hasn’t been reliable for you.
I've worked with around 20,000 GB drives and several other brands for various projects. About 800 of those lasted a year or less, with the rest either holding up well or failing right after warranty ended. This particular board was a personal purchase and the first Aorus model I tried, bought from another supplier than the previous one. It seems my luck might be on the side of this supplier, or maybe they just have unreliable parts and no quality checks. This was the second time after the pandemic I had a Gigabyte board go to RMA within six months to a year, whereas the others were either during or before the pandemic. It's not a big number, but it was consistent and the RMA condition was better than expected. Hopefully, this means you're not having issues, so at least you're appreciated or tolerated. LOL
I'm considering using asrock these days, after hearing they're actually functional now. Back then, the core 2 duos were problematic, making asrock seem unnecessary. I switched to ASUS because the maximus with an Xeon still works perfectly today.
