Warning: Numerous ROM options are running simultaneously...
Hello! I’ll try to summarize my setup quickly. I have two SSDs installed: WD Green 240 GB X2 (Raid 0 via native ports, Intel controller) and a Goldenfir SU650 512 GB with ACOS 512 GB (connected to Marvell 6 Gb/s ports). Both are performing well, though the Goldenfir is hitting its speed limit at around 375 MB/s. I attempted to set both as Raid 0 in BIOS, but the system showed an odd message saying it’s poorly written and asking if I should ignore it. I’m worried about losing my current RAID setup or overwriting it when enabling Raid 0 again. The Windows 10 RAID 0 configuration is showing lower speeds than the Goldenfir alone. I don’t want to reinstall anything, so I need advice on whether I can safely proceed despite this warning.
Considering the topic, it would make more sense to place it in the "Storage Devices" section.
I tried to address the same problem later on by linking both SSDs to the original Intel SATA2 ports. Result: Enabling both Intel and Marvell controllers in Raid mode didn’t stress the BIOS ROM. But turning on Marvell 88SE9172’s Raid 0 mode didn’t boost performance over a Windows 10 setup. Both Marvell ports perform marginally better than Intel SATA2, but using them together isn’t effective—they likely share the same I/O path. My motherboard (Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3 Rev. 1.0) is quite outdated now, and back then high-speed SSDs weren’t common. Even with both SSDs on SATA2 ports, speeds stayed around 600 MB/s, indicating the issue lies in the motherboard’s chipset or CPU. Marvell (ACOS 512 GB + Goldenfir SU650 512 GB) and Intel (SATA3 ports) links provided.
