Your PC worked normally before, but after restarting it triggered a USB overcurrent error and shut down after 15 seconds. You removed all USBs from the motherboard—including mouse, keyboard, and even the internal one—but the issue persisted. Your concern about the EK loop affecting fans and LEDs in your custom watercooled build is valid, especially since the ASUS Maximus XIII has a recall history. Consider checking for any firmware updates or contacting ASUS support for further guidance.

It was the same issue—it was my front USB port. After unplugging it from the motherboard, the problem disappeared. Now I don’t have a front USB, so I’m using a dock instead. You might want to try that.

I've already checked all USB ports and disconnected any devices, yet the issue persists. My mouse, two keyboards, and three hubs are still connected, but the fan hub is malfunctioning and causing software errors. I'm wondering if that was the root cause since it worked through USB to my main board.

I didn't disconnect the internal USB connectors. The reference was to the front USB port. It seems you're dealing with three headers—two USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0.

Also disconnected all internal components from the motherboard yet there were no improvements. Still, when I start up without a keyboard or mouse it shows two keyboards, one mouse and three hubs – that’s quite odd.

I’m thinking about some unusual approaches I might try.

1) Disconnect all devices except what’s essential for posting, use just a single RAM stick, rely on integrated graphics, skip fans and add-in cards.
2) If possible, restore the BIOS to its default settings.
3) Update the latest BIOS version.

Test each USB port individually to identify the faulty one in the BIOS. Make sure to refresh your BIOS as well.

I’ve checked the discussion on the ASUS community site, but it seems another component might be involved. The issue could also stem from the power supply unit. Updating BIOS doesn’t seem to help at this point.
