Hey, I play Cold War often and I'm seeing big jumps in frame rates between 60 and 18 FPS. It's running on the lowest settings, with an RTX 2060 and a Ryzen 5 2400G. I'm curious if my CPU is limiting the GPU performance instead of the game itself. Is Cold War also demanding a lot from the CPU? Thanks for checking!

Updated my name to reflect I’m using a 2080 model, but it’s actually a 2060 version.

Checking performance under load, GPU and CPU usage should spike significantly with Cold War running alongside MSI Afterburner. Your system will likely hit higher utilization levels than expected, especially on the GPU. It’s reasonable to assume your CPU isn’t at its minimum specifications given the strain.

It seems the game is consuming maximum CPU across all 8 cores while the GPU usage spikes dramatically from low to high, especially during the main menu.

No recommendations beyond managing temperatures with your AIO cooler.

I don’t believe RAM is the issue. Have you tried overclocking before? If you’re comfortable working in BIOS, you can push the chip to 3.9-4.0 GHz without too much hassle, which may reduce frame drops. You could also fine-tune your memory clock timings slightly.

He handles the 2400G and it won't be sufficient for smooth performance. Just use 3600/3600x and you should be fine right now. Even better if you can push to 5600X, though that varies by local market. The new CPUs haven't caused any issues here, but GPUs remain elusive—like unicorns and white swallows—everyone knows about them but few have seen them. Also remember that Warzone is notoriously inconsistent; top-tier rigs often face lag, freezes, and low FPS.

Apologies for the delayed reply. You might consider boosting the CPU speed and monitoring temps. Unless you're experienced, I'd suggest avoiding overclocking.
