I think I need to improve my FPS in games more. I have a 4080 and 12600k RAM with 32GB DDR4 3200 speed, plus a 1440p screen. In Warzone 2 I usually get 90-120 FPS unless I’m in a Gulag where it’s 140-160, and now in Sons of the Forest I’m only seeing 40-70 even with DLSS. Could it be that one of my GPU cables is loose or connected through a daisy chain PCIe cable to my power supply?

It might indicate a CPU or RAM limitation. Are you checking the newest BIOS updates?

You're unsure about checking something, aren't you? You understand the basics of building, but software, BIOS, and all that feels a bit confusing. Just let me know what you're trying to verify, and I'll guide you through it step by step.
