Yeah I've played other RE games that are well worth considering. RE 4 is one of my fave games of all time. What's cool about it is you can do things like drop enemies to their knees with a shot in the leg, then instakill Suplex them when prompted (Leon grabs him and falls backward, smashing his head into the ground). You can also do kicks on groups of enemies.
It also has some big invisible bugs in one segment, and some blind creatures that are hyper sensitive to sound with a weak spot on their backs. It's also just great in that it has many different types of level designs and creatures. There's also a great segment where you ride through a mine in a mining cart while fighting enemies.
RE2 Remake is very good too. RE3 Remake is OK, but a bit short. Lastly, RE 7 is worth playing too. Its not as good as 8 IMO though, maybe on the same level as RE 3 Remake for me.
I've also played RE Revelations and RE Revelations 2, which I didn't much care for.
