Hey, I see you're planning to upgrade your PC and decide what to do with your old one. Yes, it's definitely possible to erase everything on the old system while keeping Windows 7 running. You can use tools like Disk Cleanup or a full disk image to wipe the drive and then reinstall Windows 7 afterward. Just make sure to back up any important data beforehand.

the optimal approach is to format everything completely, ideally using tools that prevent data recovery, then reinstall windows and add drivers. any alternative could make your data recoverable for the buyer.

A fresh setup is straightforward, as the title implies. Obtain a Windows 7 installation media, create a bootable USB or DVD, start the setup on your target machine, select the expert install option and remove any existing partitions during the process. Then generate a new partition and finish the installation.

I tried to find a safe method to download Windows 7, but it seems challenging these days. It’s confusing since you still need a product key afterward.

You cannot access Microsoft directly. You can use third-party copies with the original ISO file.

Wow, there are plenty of responses. For the media, I understand, and I have the license key, so I’ll likely need to handle everything from scratch. Just thought I could manage it like you can on phones, thanks!
