Hi everyone, I installed Windows 10 using the free installer from my previous version. If I need to format my PC, do I have to reinstall Windows 8.1 again? Or can I use the current Windows 8.1 license to get directly to Windows 10? Ty Franco

You should be able to obtain the ISO file from the Microsoft website using your key, which is located in your settings.

If 'format' refers to a reset on your PC, then yes. You can perform this within Windows 10 while maintaining license validation. For added safety (though it will be longer), you can revert to Windows 8.1, reset from there, and install Windows 10 once more. Either option works...
