VRR ceased functioning on PS5 while linked to a soundbar.
Hello, I own an LG C1 with a soundbar model LG SN10Y. My setup includes a PS5 running Nvidia Shield Pro. Recently, the PS5 stopped supporting VRR, which was working previously. The connection flow is: Soundbar → EARC → TV via HDMI 2 (eARC). On the soundbar, HDMI 1 connects to the Shield and HDMI 2 to the PS5. Previously, I could switch between sources easily, but now VRR isn't enabled. Details: TV supports eARC, digital output is auto, both devices are updated. I've tried using different cables and even bypassed Passthrough, but the issue persists. Soundbar remains on eARC mode. I reset the TV settings and unplugged everything without success. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
It's hard to tell how to improve the sound, but it seems risky to connect everything directly to the TV. The C1 offers four high-bandwidth ports.
It shouldn't be that way. The C1 only features one eARC port (HDMI 2), which means you wouldn't be able to enable eARC on both the shield and PS5. Your experience with the first TV is understandable—issues were common at first.
EARC allows audio from any connected sources to flow back to the device via the eARC port. This setup eliminates the need to link multiple devices to a soundbar. There’s just one eARC port, making it unnecessary to use two soundbars.
Yes, it seems you can rely on this configuration without any issues.
There could be an issue because the soundbar is meant for audio, while the TV handles video. Mixing them might not work well, leading to problems you notice.
