My x570 Tomahawk uses a 12+2 phase VRM setup. I’m not sure if the two phases run together with the 12 phases or operate separately. The extra phase might help with stability or efficiency. The +2 likely refers to additional power handling capacity, not just background support.

They typically correspond to the RAM, around 12 CPUs plus 2 RAM modules.

On Intel boards it's mainly for IGPU, and memory too, probably.

The first value applies to Vcore. The second relates to igpu/SOC, and memory isn't usually specified. The X570 Tomahawk uses one phase VRAM.
