VRAM
VRAM
GPU performance matters far more than raw VRAM figures. A 4GB GTX 610 will function similarly to a newer ARK in progress, which is still in a rough phase. Based on current knowledge, even a high-end card like 980ti won’t deliver smooth performance at 1080p due to frequent stutters. The 290 or 970 cards are currently the top choices for their value. If ARK receives ongoing support, it might improve over time, but right now it’s not a reliable platform. Building a system around a game in development is risky since requirements can change.
For ARK the recommended card is around 970, which is currently the top value option. Keep in mind it's still under development so performance remains limited. Once completed, DayZ should offer significantly better performance with a broader range of configurations. Regarding VRAM, modern setups typically require no more than 4GB. It has minimal impact on performance except at very high resolutions such as 4K, but 1080p should work fine with 4GB.
