I use both an Oculus Rift S and a Quest 2 regularly, but the issue persists across all headsets. I've checked Oculus debug tools, Steam VR settings, and even the Nvidia control panel, but nothing resolves it. The screen keeps tearing and performance drops sharply. If anyone has suggestions, it would be incredibly useful. My system specs are: RTX 2080, 16GB GDDR6 RAM, SSD 1TB, Intel i7-8700k processor.

I’m checking if you’re using the latest Nvidia graphics drivers. Even with your strong hardware, lowering the settings might resolve the issue. If that doesn’t work, run a Windows Defender scan and inspect Task Manager for any resource-heavy processes. Clearing tasks or restarting could improve performance. Consider reinstalling games like Oculus and Steam, ensuring Freesync is enabled. If none of these steps help, updating your Windows might be the best option.

It's unusual. I ran my Rift S with an i7 8086k and a 2080 ti without problems, even in modded titles, and it still felt smooth on an i9 10900kf and 3080 ti. I believe other components might be affecting performance. I’m aware the Rift S can be impacted by external applications, so I often disable all non-essential programs during gameplay.
