I need to secure my data by moving it offsite. Users should also access their files remotely. My Windows server functions as a remote desktop solution. Here’s what I aim to achieve: I want to implement a cloud-based VPN service similar to Digital Ocean or Vultr. Clients must connect to the cloud server, and all devices should be able to join. I need to link multiple servers in various locations for coordinated offsite backups. After six months of work, I’m feeling confused. I’ve experimented with PFSence on Vultr, OpenVPN on Digital Ocean, and Windows VPN with port forwarding. I’m seeking guidance from an IT expert—paid or free? Someone who can walk me through the setup. This project is really challenging for me.

This data holds significant value. For my perspective, I wouldn't store anything on the cloud server. Sensitive details remain on the office server. I suggest using a VPN in your workplace. Allow users to access the file server. If the content isn't sensitive, consider renting Google Drive or similar platforms. Building your own server will be expensive.

Clarify your goals: Are you developing a cloud backup solution, or do you need a backup system for internal users within your organization?

Set up a VPS on Vulrant with SoftEther VPN, then turn on OpenVPN functionality.
