VPN solution for connecting Ubiquiti networks across locations
Hello everyone, I think I found the right place to ask. I’ve been configuring some Ubiquiti Express Devices and want to create a Site-to-Site VPN so all of them connect back to one central location. It’s for myself and a few friends in the same building with different internet setups. I followed a YouTube tutorial, but it’s not working well. Even after forwarding ports 500 and 4500, I still can’t establish the connection. Do anyone have a written guide or know what I might be missing? Also, am I using IPsec?
You may require UniFi Site Magic for setting up this multi-site network. It’s designed to handle dynamic WAN IPs and double-NAT scenarios. If you need more advanced capabilities than UniFi Express offers, a stronger console might be necessary. Refer to the FAQ for further details. Also, why are you attempting this?
We’re trying to enjoy classic LAN games from different spots, and it seems to work with UniFi Express. Appreciate the help!
Site Magic focuses on improving user experience. Unfortunately, I lack devices that meet the testing criteria. Keep in mind that during this site-to-multisite VPN arrangement, all participants have visibility into each other’s networks and data sharing. It seems your friends are likely reliable. By the way, NordVPN offers MeshNet which can achieve similar results without needing UniFi equipment.
