Hi everyone! I'm still trying to figure out a fix for my HP Pavilion laptop with an AMD Ryzen CPU. The volume issue is frustrating—no matter the setting, the audio stays at maximum when using the built-in speakers, but only works properly with headphones. When I switch to headphones, it functions correctly. I've tried checking drivers and other solutions online, but nothing seems to help. Anyone else experiencing the same problem? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Visit the HP driver download page for laptops and install the audio drivers they recommend. It could be simple, or it might be another instance of HP providing their own drivers despite the situation.
I discovered a workaround... somewhat. I opened the Device Manager, navigated to "Sound, video and game controller," and for each of the four sub-options (AMD Audio Device, Realtek® Audio, etc.), I selected "Update driver," "Browse my computer for driver," and then picked an older version that was available. After restarting the computer, it functioned properly. I don't know how long it's been working, but it does.
