I own the Hyperx Cloud Flight wireless headset, which connects via a USB dongle to my computer. I've used them on my desktop for more than a year without any problems, and recently switched to using them on my laptop. Initially, everything worked fine, but after a week or so of use, they became very quiet. I always set the volume at 10 in Windows, but now it sounds quieter when the volume is at 100. I tried connecting the dongle to a different USB port and it returned to normal for a few days before the same problem appeared again. Now I have only one working USB port left and am really looking for a solution. I've uninstalled them in Device Manager and reinstalled the headphone drivers, but nothing has resolved the issue. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Model and make of your motherboard? BIOS version for that board? Consider reinstalling your chipset drivers.

It's a laptop, as I discussed, so I'm not as familiar with it compared to a desktop. Running msinfo32 shows it's an HP 88F7 motherboard running version 86.39 with BIOS AMI F.26. I checked HP's site and reinstalled all the chipset and audio drivers, but the issue still continues.

For a laptop, the model and SKU of the HP mobile device are adequate. If using a USB headset, you bypass audio driver issues. The included receiver/dongle functions as the soundcard/transmitter.

The device is an HP Omen 17-ck0xxx with SKU 4W2K6UA#ABA. Appreciate the help, though I wasn't expecting the audio drivers to work and did it mainly because I was desperate.

What you provided was the serial number. Regardless, I used that to hunt your laptop down on HP's support site. If you're indeed on F.26 for your BIOS, you have one more BIOS version pending update, to F.30. As for your laptop being an Intel platform, I'd reinstall all drivers(listed under Chipset) in an elevated command, i.e, Right click installer>Run as Administrator.
I'm wondering if you're needing an OS reinstallation. Seeing how almost always a device/driver issue was sparked from a corruption in the OS.

I just changed my BIOS to F.30 and reinstalled all four chipset drivers via the HP Download and Install Assistant again, but the issue persists. Would you think an OS problem could affect all USB ports at once instead of just one? Could the USB receiver from the headset be causing the ports to malfunction?

The issue disappeared briefly but reappeared; I resolved it this time and kept the steps here for anyone facing the same problem later.
