Voltage specifications for Ryzen 3000 series processors
It’s worth observing that your CPU drops to 1.4 volts during gaming—this could indicate a problem. For a Ryzen 5 3500X, disabling PBO might be a safer option to prevent potential damage.
For light usage such as gaming, a Ryzen 3000/5000 at around 1.45V works well. When performance demands increase with tasks like Cinebench or Blender, aim for closer to 1.3V or lower.
It might be my mistake since I adjusted the PBO settings, yet the voltages stayed the same but clocks, boosts, and wattage increased. In AIDA 64, we’d aim for 1.3 volts.
I'm using a multimeter to check the voltages. For the same stress test, it shouldn't operate at such a high voltage.
It might be that the algorithm only considers the thermal headroom and raises it further
Usually you don't require much power, 1.30v works just fine for any purpose if it runs at stock. Overclocking is a different matter altogether. In reality, my 3600x chip performs well at stock with around 1.25v's, and temperatures stay comfortably within limits even when under load.
