Voltage level remains steady, i7-13700K operates at elevated temperatures
Hello, welcome to your first post here. I'm struggling with some issues after completing my new build. It's the Intel i7 13700K MSI Z790 P WIFI Cooler Be Quiet Pure loop 240mm setup. I have 32GB DDR5 RAM at 5200MHz. I observed unusually high temperatures even when idle. I checked the core voltage in BIOS but it stayed the same. I adjusted the offset to 0.080 and tried Adaptive, but no improvement. My CPU throttles significantly in Cinebench R23, reaching 100 instantly. I've attached screenshots from CPU-Z and HWMonitor. I also used the Intel overclocking tool, but none of the settings changed anything.
I also installed both components, and I added an aftermarket thermal paste. I’m not sure it will help much. The core voltage seems too high for this CPU—around 1.600V if I see it clearly, which is what’s causing my concern. I don’t understand why it wouldn’t improve things.
I7 13700k MSI Z790 P WIFI Air Cooler DeepCool Assassin III Fury Beast 64 Gb 5600 MHz CL32 I achieved stable temperatures up to 85°C while running CinebenchR23. HWmonitor and CPU-Z (using the same settings) show a VCore around 1.48 volts, even though Core voltage exceeds 1.235V. HWiNFO displays 1.240V. I also tested booting with only CPU LITE MODE 5 (AUTO = 9), which produced similar good performance. HWiNFO reports a maximum VCore of 1.324V.
