The value 1.39 appears to be suitable for around eight hours of daily use. No heat buildup should occur since the device lacks a heatsink.

It's okay even with just 1.45V; results might change in terms of performance or stability, but battery life shouldn't be affected. Heat isn't an issue as long as you don't trap them in a foam pack—each stick should use no more than 2-3W.
