If anyone is currently using this piece of software and has used the ability to segment VRAM from video, what if any impacts have you had outside of the VM? Have you played any games or do anything that's graphically intensive? I currently use VMWare ver 10 and am thinking of upgrading but not sure if I should wait until the next iteration to ensure stability with this piece of functionality.

Based on your system, certain older titles perform well. It varies by the game you're playing. It doesn't affect external activity beyond taking resources from your host. I run Age of Empires 2 on my Linux laptop and it functions perfectly. However, because it's not inexpensive, you might prefer sticking with 10 or try a VMware player.
