VM for two windows to work on editing
This feature works with Windows Server and Microsoft Multipoint.
I’m just checking out different choices—if it looks good, I’ll go ahead; if not, I’ll upgrade. I figured adding an SSD, RAM, monitor, keyboard, and mouse would cover running the VM with my resources.
Only KVM and Xen support direct IOMMU PCI passthrough in Linux systems. Windows does not allow this. VMWare ESXi can do it, but only for certain NVIDIA GPUs designed for virtualization on servers. You might consider using soft-emulated graphics cards such as those offered by VMware or Hyper-V Remote-FX. vGPU cannot match a real GPU. EDIT: The sole method to enable PCI passthrough is through KVM or Xen in Linux, Hyper-V RemoteFX works only with limited GPUs, and ESXi’s vGPU feature is the best available.
