Hey everyone!
My dad has been through some tough times lately, just like I was when he was my age—fixing things, making tweaks, and taking care of his computer. But with the financial strain and some serious health challenges, his current PC isn’t doing too well. He’s had a... not great experience with stores (Curry's or PC World if you’re in the UK, you’ll know how to spot it).
I just wrapped up my very first complete PC build (you can check the build logs if you want to see). I’m planning to bring it over this weekend so he can try some games and enjoy a few visually impressive titles. I’d love to show him something that really stands out and gives him a great time.
What are some standout, visually stunning games I could recommend for him? Thanks!

The top recommendation I have is Metro Exodus. It's impressive even without ray tracing.

Metro Last Light costs £3, whereas Exodus is £25. Are they visually similar in appearance?

Exodus is more recent and utilizes ray tracing (available on your 1080). It's worth it. A stunning game, crafted impressively.

The valley in the Steam store looks quite attractive too.
Doom is also excellent and includes a demo.

It's an older title so the visuals aren't as polished, but it still has a great feel. Being mostly underground gives you a different experience compared to Exodus, offering more of a mysterious, eerie vibe with monsters in confined areas. For a better sense of what to expect, check out gameplay videos on YouTube. Other games with impressive visuals include the Tomb Raider reboots and The Witcher 3.

The newest nVidia driver supports DXR, which is the real name for RTX and ray tracing, and also allows Pascal cars GTX 1060 with 6Gb and newer to use it. However, this comes at a slight performance cost.
